‘Love, Janis’ – The biogrphical musical of the late, great Janis Joplin opened at the Marines Memorial Theatre – and it’s really something special. Two actresses are onstage both portraying Janis Joplin – one that relates her life in San Francisco during the 60’s from actual letters that whe wrote to her mother – thus, the name ‘Love, Janis’ – and the other one sings 19 of her legendary songs. They both have the Joplin look, her voice and all of her moves. They’re backed by a terrific rock band that ranges from 4 to 7 musicians throughout the performance. The story unfolds from her rise to fame to her tragic death at the age of 27 in 1970.

‘Love, Jains’ is now playing at the Marines Memorial Theatre thru September 3rd. It is absolutely incredible.
